Yipit is a recently venture-backed, NYC-based startup that helps people eat, buy and do anything they want by giving them unbelievable, personalized deals. We need someone who can help drive operations as we grow into an awesome company.
If you’re a business person looking to get a solid experience at a tech startup, this is the ideal job for you. You will learn exactly how startups work by playing an integral part in many aspects of our company. You will also be working in one of the hottest sectors in the web right now: the social commerce market, including Groupon, LivingSocial and their 110 US Competitors.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Content. Running in seven markets, our content already requires a complex network of freelancers who curate and maintain accuracy. We plan to be in 30 cities by the end of the year, and we need someone to architect and manage this expansion.
- Quality Assurance. You will find bugs, create test plans and own the quality of our software development releases.
- Logistics and Core Startup Tasks. Everything that you can do, you will do. Printing t-shirts, getting business cards, managing outsourcers, planning team events, buying office supplies.
Your secondary role will require you to pitch in on a variety of areas that will build valuable skillsets for your career in startups:
- Product Management. Our product portfolio will expand rapidly over the next several months, and you will be given every opportunity to play a role.
- User Acquisition. You will become fluent in online marketing as you support our SEM, affiliate marketing and digital advertising efforts.
- PR. You will create world-class deliverables to support our public relations. We have tons of cool data and are quickly becoming a thought leader in the exploding Daily Deal space. See prior examples in TechCrunch, Mashable, New York Daily News, Business Insider and the Yipit Blog.
- Business Development. Yipit makes money through affiliate relationships with Daily Deal companies. You will help negotiate and service these relationships.
- Community Management. You will help communicate with our growing community of Yipit users via various social media channels.
This opportunity is perfect for a recent college graduate (graduated between ’07-’10) who is passionate about joining the startup world. Maybe you are looking to start your own company one day. We’re interested in extraordinary people from any background, but most importantly you are:
- Intellectually and professionally nimble – able to take on a variety of independent workstreams in a leadership role.
- An extremely hard worker – ready to make this startup the primary focus of your life.
Compensation includes introductory salary, full health benefits and equity. Given the nature of this job, it will be very competitive but we will take a serious look at everyone’s submission and get back to you quickly. Please email your LinkedIn profile or resume to: employee5@yipit.com. Include your Twitter handle and blog if you have them.
